Crossing Cagayan de Oro to Camiguin Island

My friends (2 other kayakers) and I plan to paddle across Balingoan, Misamis Oriental (Cagayan de Oro, Philippines) and Benoni Sea Port (Camiguin Island, Philippines). By ferry it is a 45-min trip. This will be my first. Can you provide tips and guidelines. Thanks.
