Howdy Mark! By far the best shipping method for kayaks that I have found, based on both pricing and service is through Forward Air. They are a truck shipping company that has terminals in most states and large metro areas. Your actual price for your…

HMMMM, some might think so, but I learned a LOT about mechanics from that car! It was the first car I bought and I got it when I was 18. My point was actually directed at the handling/ performance, since the MGs are fantastic at that. (

I've been paddling for almost 20 years now, lots of water gone by!! To say that kayaking has shaped the last 20 of my 50 years is an understatement for sure! I started in surf kayaking and progressed to rivers, racing, slalom, and instruction. I've been an ACA Instructor Trainer in whitewater for 18 years now, and I am the founder/owner of Current Adventures Kayak School (15yrs) and owner of The River Store (5yrs) in Lotus, California.
I've been a member of the US Surf Kayak Team since it's inception in 1991, and twice National Champion as well as one time World Champion. Surf Kayaking is still where I find the most fun in a kayak, and I look forward to the Winter every year so I can get back out on the waves with friends, and on my own. (<:
Kayaking.com is also my URL, and after years of using it in different ways, I am STOKED about the new direction that we are taking it. I look forward to sharing knowledge, experience and ideas with others from around the world!!

Learning to Speak Kayak

You want to be a better paddler you say?? Many people seem to believe that paddling new and more difficult runs makes them better boaters. Certainly valid experience is helpful, but the best paddlers are always working on their Fundamental Skills, practicing their Form, and sharpening their Mental Focus. Without good basic techniques it can be very difficult to improve and without practice and proper focus there is no consistency.

This is where you can set up a program for yourself, or… Continue

Thank you for your comment, I call it the PaddlePac, this is only a prototype. You can go to paddlepac.com to see more. Yes, I built this one myself and hope to have a retail model ready for this summer. The turning is only affected slightly, due to the raised connecting arms the kayak is able to fit under the entire unit while turning. The only problem I had was paddling against a strong current. One of the advantages is the ability to disassemble and fit in a storage bag. The retail model I am working on is a bit larger with more streamlined pontoons. Thank you again.

Hi Dan, Woody Fox here, I love the shuttle service on the AR SF that you have worked so hard on...I like it because I can park down at the bottom (Greenwood) and get a ride to the put in (Marshall Park). I will pretty much pay whatever the cost to catch a ride when I need it.

Thanks again. would be a pleasure to see you someday in lotus or wherever. I bought and learned a lot from the DVD The Kayak Roll. I recognized you from it. sorry, I get star struck. : )

What happened was, I signed up online and paid by CC. When I arrived I was told the event was full. They said oh yea call next week and we will refund you......guess what, after many phone calls it never happened. I just gave up cuz it was more work to get my $110 back than i could justify. I have always had problems with Dennis and the whole cost of the SC surf event, that just sealed the deal. He just does this one event and lives off the proceeds for the year......what a chump!
I'll be way more likely to show up to an expression session type of event in the future anyway, but will always miss hanging out with the plethora of friends at SC. Good luck, and give Dennis shit for me!

Snow has been great lately, but stoked for spring runoff! Sure doesnt feel like a drought year, hope the rain lasts.

Dan:

We love the shuttle service, but: A fee for the shuttle AND a fee for the put-in makes it fairly expensive for the chili bar run for our group of three. In fact the two fees together provide no benefit over taking two cars. We would use the service more often if there was just a fee for the shuttle
