Thanks Marc Yes I realized that only when I downloaded the pictures. The cover was designed to deflect waves. Inside the cover is a waterproof rubberized hatch ...so in case I roll over will still secure the compartment from getting flooded.

Hi Ed, Great looking kayak! I'm curious, did you realize the straps on your front hatch were loose when you the picture was taken? It's a good think you didn't roll your kayak, I imagine the front compartment would have filled-up pretty quickly.!
