pictures of my new toy. And maiden voyage report.
Last week I picked up a used tandem waveski, cheap. It's old. It's beat up. But it floats and Kim and I surfed it today and had an absolute blast. We took off on some pretty good sized waves! So much.
(For those that don't know, a Waveski is constructed and designed much like a surfboard, but paddled from the seated position. )
Now that i've confirmed it works for us, I'm going to do a bit of an overhaul, fixing all the dings properly, maybe refinish the deck. just didn't want to invest the time/energy/materials until I confirmed it worked for us.
Sorry there are no action shots. Kind of hard from the face of the wave! So, so, so much fun.

Comment by Geoff Jennings on April 13, 2009 at 9:55pm - I think there is a length rule. Otherwise that'd be awesome. But not intermediate. I'd pay $125 to enter Expert, just to see the eyes on the guys on the little 7'6" HP ski's eyes bulge when we paddle out on that thing!

- Val, it is FAST. Man..... only thing that took so getting used to was turning for the wave. You can't exactly wait till the last minute and spin, it has to be planned.

Looks very fun. I've seen a few folks out before at San O. Fun if you know how to rip. You've got a very patient wife Geoff .. always looks so happy in Tandem craft.
Next time you are down, let me know and I'll take some action pics from out on the water.
(I figure you must scare those dropins out of the water too ...would not want to see that thing coming at me full speed.)
